Are you looking for someone who loves to conduct research?
In search of a freelancer who is easy to work with and responds quickly?
Great news - you’ve found your gal!
As a journalist, I pride myself on telling captivating and informative stories. Whether it’s an in-depth news piece or inspirational, personal feature, I write in a manner that allows readers to connect with the story. I know how to ask the right questions in an interview, write to a publication’s style and stick to a word count (as much as it pains me). Most importantly, I make it a personal goal to meet all deadlines, and I’ve even been known to turn in stories a few days early.
Since I returned to journalism in late 2016 (after stints as a publicist and stay-at-home mother), I’ve focused on several categories: health & wellness, parenting, divorce, medical news, home and general lifestyle. I’ve written for large, national publications, regional magazines, the local newspaper and content sites. Current and past clients include: The Washington Post, Tonic, Paste, Headspace, Healthline, Healthday, Greatist, Folks, ESME, New Jersey Monthly, Westchester Magazine, Bedford Magazine, Hudson Valley Magazine, Ridgefield Magazine and The Record-Review.
A quick bit of background: I decided to become a journalist in high school and published my first reported feature in a local alt-weekly at the age of 17. As a magazine journalism student at The University of Georgia, I served as editor of the campus magazine for two years and was often tapped to speak to introductory classes.
So, why me?
It’s simple – I get the job done. As an editor, you can feel confident that I will produce well-researched, clean copy on deadline. And, I’ll respond to follow-up questions and/or edits in a timely manner.
