COLLABORATIVE. RELIABLE. CREATIVE.
As a writer, I believe in the power of storytelling. It's the most effective way to communicate a message.
Successful storytelling is how people come to understand and connect with a person, product or service. Every day, stories are told in newspapers and magazines, essays and books, speeches and presentations, and on websites and social media. These are the mediums in which I help people tell their stories. I love what I do.
As an award-winning journalist, I’ve told hundreds of stories. My work has been featured in The Washington Post, Healthline, SELF, Headspace and more. I cover a variety of categories, including health & wellness, parenting & divorce, home and general lifestyle.
I also work as a content writer, helping businesses tell their stories. I’m skilled at transforming complicated information (data, statistics, research, reports, etc.) into easy-to-understand language. In this role, I’ve revised websites, regularly composed on-line content, ghost-written blogs and generated story ideas. In addition, I have composed internal/external communications, created executive biographies, developed speeches and even produced newsletters and annual reports.
As a professional writer, I take my job seriously. Editors and clients can always count on me to make (and often beat!) deadlines, answer questions promptly and deliver timely revisions. In fact, I’m a bit of a creative geek. I always a enjoy a good brainstorm, am skilled at writing for SEO and take great pride in delivering work that is well-researched and clean.
On a personal note, I’m a New Orleans native and have been brainwashed to believe that purple, green and gold look great together. After graduating from The University of Georgia with a journalism degree, I spent a summer living in Paris working for an English-speaking bike tour company. I can spot an American tourist a mile away. I moved to Manhattan one month before 9/11 and stayed. It was my home for seven years and I loved every minute of it. I now live in the small town of Katonah, NY; it's peaceful, friendly and beautiful.
I’m the mother of two creative children, a 10-year-old girl and 7-year-old boy, who are already making their own paths as storytellers. My better half is usually, well, the better half. Friends seem to believe that I’m great at giving advice, and it’s not unusual for their friends to call me for help when there’s a problem. At home, you’ll often find me singing off-key, dancing like nobody’s watching, laughing at our crazy dog Scout, cooking a delicious meal and reading to my kids.
I'm glad you're here, and I look forward to connecting with you.
